We love, love, love when couples really make their wedding their “own.” Becky and Rick did an incredible job of this! They LOVE books and their whole theme was centered around this. The bouquets were flowers made out of book pages, there were typewriters on each table, their place settings and place cards were set up like a library, they had readings during their ceremony from Emerson- it was perfect! What topped it all off was everyone dressed like they were from the Great Gatsby! Flappers, 3 piece suits-fabulous!!!
Here are a couple of ring shots Carrie took…
We’ve seen tons of super sweet and proud dad’s, but none as gentle as Becky’s. Before their ceremony she found ink pen on her dress, he helped her get it off, wiped her tears with a Qtip so it wouldn’t smudge her makeup, made some of the bouquets, kept the sun out of her eyes while she looked at her husband to be waiting at the alter for her…. he had me in tears!
Becky read Emerson’s, Essay on Love during the ceremony. At one point, the word was “deification,” but she said “defecation.”
It took her a few sentences to realize it, while she continued reading, everyone was quiet, however, as soon as she realized her goof, everyone shared in a good laugh. It wasn’t easily forgotten as her sister reminded everyone of it during her toast.
As Becky put it, Defication, deification; pota(y)to, pota(h)to.
Her sister was so supportive and loving….
I’m not quite sure what was going on here, but this cracked me up!
We adore shooting at The Sanderling as you have the best of both worlds… you get to get married right by the beach, and even have the ocean in some of your photos, but you don’t have to walk through the sand if you don’t want to! Of course, you can get married on the beach if you like but the deck’s fabulous!
Becky and Rick are honeymooning in the Outer Banks this week but Rick also planned a surprise honeymoon to Ireland next year. The DJ announced it right before they made their entrance, here is Becky when she first found out.
The bubbles during the first dance were such an amazing idea!!!
And the sunset… delicious!!!
They had karaoke for the reception music- MEGA FUN!!

Love everything about this wedding, but mostly how they made it about them!!! These images are fantastic, the one in the field is so perfect!!!! Great job!
What an amazing concept for a wedding! I love it. And what a sunset! And what a cake! Oh, Beckstar, don’t worry about the “deification” thing; I once announced to the judges during a vocal audition that I would be performing Acapulco.
Congratulations to the happy couple. Great shots, all! And happy trip to Ireland next year!
