Elena is such a gem to work and play with!! She just turned 8 and her mom, Rebecca had the cutest idea for a shoot to celebrate her beautimus daughter! She brought lots of candy from their ice cream shop beside Corolla Pizza, a chandelier from a very old home in Corolla, a pom pom banner and one more made from doilies that said “Sweet Elena.”
We set up by our chicken coop at and then moved to a grassier area by the squirt grapes. She had the cutest outfits, the one with the ruffle legs and polka dots is from Salon Swank in Kitty Hawk.
Laney Bean is so gentle and so very sweet, she was up for anything although I think her favorite was throwing the gum balls! Her mom coordinates a big food fight each year for the kids in their neighborhood and they have it down to a science as to which food comes first and last for the most sticking power! I would LOVE to see that, how fun!!
Rebecca and all her fammy sammy are so genuinely thoughtful and sweet, they even brought us pizza from their shop in Corolla and brought Poppy a bag of art supplies!! I love their smiles and energy.
Cousin Caroline has been having “Coke” parties at her store in Jarvisburg at least since my husband was a baby. Everyone would sit around and talk, play checkers and drink coke out of a bottle. This party was no different except our daughter was there with her grandparents, just like John used to be the baby with his grandparents.
Every second that happens is history and I’m thankful to be a part of it and be able to document it for our family now and who is yet to come.
These 4 have the most gorgeous home on the Trent River in New Bern, NC. It’s hard to beat water, boats, grass and tons of trees! Mix that with a beautimus family with great personalities and it’s perfection!!
Juliet is full of life, she wants to run and laugh and have adventures and Charlie is happy as can be watching everyone and smiling non-stop!
It’s always so nice to come home and be by the water and see my family, New Bern is such a quaint little town with some of the most sincere people. I love all it has to offer.
Isa and Will are going to be parent’s to a beautimus little lady around Christmas time – I can’t wait to hear the good news! They are already awesome parent’s to their 2 puppies who will have a ball licking and loving on their new beebster!
We met at the Kitty Hawk Pier to play and celebrate a new life.
Liam just turned 2 years old! I got to go to his grandparent’s home on the Trent River in New Bern, NC where his grandpa was teaching him how to fish, all the kiddos in their family grow up going out on the boat and are born into a love of water and the outdoors.
He had his birthday treat on the boat as well, delicious ice cream in a bowl that was his grandpa’s when he was a baby with sprinkles, of course!
It’s almost Halloween so we got to see MAX in action! He is going to have a great time Trick or Treating!
Lucia and Diego are growing up soooo quickly, the first time I met Diego he was just a few weeks old and cute as a button.
I then got to visit them in Raleigh and now I got to see him in New Bern. He is not even 1 and walking, he started between 9 and 10 months!
Lucia had a ball running from her dad and flying as high in the air as he could throw her!
We had such a fun photo adventure around New Bern, NC! We started downtown by the pumpkin patch and then we went to the Trent Woods Fire Station. Stroud adores fire trucks, he had the cutest little hyper spurts when he got to see them! After we played there for a bit we went to his home and got to meet his doggie, Lilly, and he road on his John Deer tractor while pulling her behind him in the wagon. He has the most contagious giggle!
When I thought it couldn’t get any cuter, he started swinging with his folks and laughing non stop all the way up and all the way down!
I love getting to shoot in New Bern, it offers all sorts of back drops and fun new areas to play in, not to mention some of the cutest families around!
Working with Christen Buchert is nothing short of amazing! She teaches kids starting at 6 months old how to save themselves if they fall into the water by rolling into a float and at 1 year old they can learn to roll over and float on their back then flip back over and swim to safety. ISR has saved so many lives!
I got to photograph her students she teaches in Va. Beach at the dive center, such incredible kids and parents!
Sweet Booney has the gummiest giggle – she’s the type of kiddo you want around you all day everyday. Adorable, stylish, funny – who could ask for anything more!
Emily and Zack are such a gracious and genuine couple – they met while in nursing school and are perfect together. They both spend each day caring for others which carries through to their day to day life.
They got married at Zack’s aunt’s home overlooking the Currituck Sound – on this particular day, you couldn’t tell if it was the mountains or the water you were watching. The hammock of trees with the low lying clouds and the band of dark blue right above the trees was so mysterious and beautiful.
All their family and friends pitched in to make their day perfect and stress free! Glimmer Weddings did a phenomenal job on everyone’s hair and make up!
When Emily’s dad gave her away he gave Zack a firm handshake and a big smile which made everyone chuckle.
The kids at the wedding were so funny – everywhere we looked one was being adorable!
They had the most breathtaking first look in front of an old home and a corn field – who knew corn fields could be so romantic?
Unprompted the fellas ran into the field and began throwing corn at Zack- we love everything Currituck!
Soundwavz Music did a great job of keeping everyone dancing, especially the kiddos!
At the end they had some fun with the champagne!
