Saturday morning was so much fun, we went out and picked arugula, spinach, and dug potatoes with Weezy and Juicy, then went and fed and played with the chickens. Poppy may be a multiple tutu kind of gal but she is happy as can be to play in the mud, dig for worms and carry her chickens around!
I’m so lucky to have John, he’s patient and a fabulous teacher – it makes my heart smile to see him teaching Poppy about farming and caring for living things.

Poppy cracks me up wearing John’s glasses!

The last one of Poppy making the stink face at Juicy’s “sliber” is my favorite!

The rain and clouds parted minutes before these two said “I Do” at Sanctuary Vineyards. It was a gorgeous morning and a fabulous evening with rain in the middle of the day. The clouds made for beautiful lighting and cooled the day off. It couldn’t have been more perfect!

Everyone was glued to their phones checking the forecast but Kathryn’s mama didn’t want her to look outside at the rain, she knew it would clear up and there would be no worries!

While Candace was photographing the gals getting ready, I got to play with the fellas who are total goofballs!

The ladybugs arrived to sunshine and fun!

Tim & Kathryn are so sweet together and laugh non stop!

Her grandpa was a dancing machine!!

Wishing you a lifetime of love and snuggles! Congratulations lovebugs!

Turkey’s dog, Finn, is the best doggie ever. So gentle AND he jumps on the trampoline, a huge plus in the Mayo household!! We were outside playing with bubbles but it seems that Finn liked them best of all.
Finn’s talents include jumping on the trampoline, paddle boarding, swimming, fishing, blowing bubbles and snuggling really, really, really hard.

Poppy had the best time with her aunt and “uncle!”

When I pulled up to Jennifer and Paul’s home, I was in heaven! It was surrounded by gorgeous fields, a pond, tractors, old fences… it was perfectly gorgeous – I kept thinking to myself, this is too good to be true, I must have the wrong address!
Out walks Jennifer and her 2 doggies, ready to go! We went and raided her home and closet to come up with tons of things to incorporate and after learning that her hubby, Paul, owns Currituck BBQ we knew we had to use the huge pig cooker that was right outside their front door!
Baby boy, Luke, is due on Independence day but they are hoping he declares his own independence a few days before! We’re all so excited to meet their little peanut!

We were preparing dinner and giving Poppy a bath (complete with finger paint all over the walls, faucets…) when John got a call from his dad, “Bubba,” that there was a rainbow. I ran outside and left my sweet hubby with a bathroom that looked like Ariel and all her friends had come alive to paint their world green!
The double rainbow was phenomenal!! Juicy came with me and was in heaven running through the mud, wheat, rain… it was the perfect evening for all of us!
This is the brand new vineyard behind the winery.

We had the most phenomenal evening with Amber & Steve, they are adorable together and so much fun! We found lots of little places on the farm to dodge the wind and even some to embrace it.
Candace and I set a bed up in the field along with a gorgeous dresser that we found in one of the barns, Ashley, our newest second shooter, styled the bed and they snuggled away!

Steve was so sweet, unprompted, he picked a flower and put it in Amber’s hair – love them!! These may be my favorite images of the day as they remind me of Holland, frolicking in a land far, far away.

The sunset over the vineyards was gorgeous!

Thank you zillions for coming to play with us, we’re soooo super duper excited for your June wedding!!!
We are super excited to introduce you to our newest photographer who will be second shooting with us this summer!
She is a wonderous wifey, “Callie’s mama,” and a quackin’ good mom to her 5 ducks.
She’s a master gardener (even has a field of Poppy flowers!), designer and a phenomenal writer!
Meet Ashley.
“I went to school for the Fishes but they weren’t biting so I went back to learn to design them some scales and maybe a reef that offers them the comfort and joy of a home. I grew a few scales of my own in the process and have been swimming my way into an amazing school of friends that encourage me to ride the tides.
Recently, I postponed my dream of selling reefs to capturing the beauty of their inhabitants.
My world is my reef, filled with flips, waves, fun and frolics. So if you want to swim with the fishes…just kidding…play and splish splash in the surf… I’ll help capture your moments in the sun…May the beach be your runway, the grass your podium and sunlight your inspiration to shine…”

Here are a few images from Amber + Steve’s engagement session at Sanctuary Vineyards. Candace and I set the bed up earlier in the day and Ashley styled it with the blankets, pillows and flowers- our own little sanctuary!

The photo on the left cracks me up, perfect fit for “awkward family photos!” Love these little goofs, and Hilo loved driving the tractor!

The OBX Brides Wedding Show at Sanderling Resort was an absolute blast!! For starters, the location is beyond gorgeous! If you haven’t seen the new renovations at Sanderling make sure you stop by! The pools are phenomenal, the hammock chairs, new airy and modern lobby, fabulous bars, phenomenal restaurants, fire pits… the list goes on and on! It was the perfect location for the show!
The show itself had the best of the best Outer Banks vendors, they are all ones who you know are going to be wonderful to work with, show up early and stay late to make sure they do the best job they can for you.
My favorite thing about this show is the couples could come and relax together, have delicious food, walk around with beer/wine/mixed drinks and really spend time with the vendors and ENJOY planning their wedding.
Here are a few of our favorites from the day!
This is Wendy and her kids, she is one of the wondersum wedding planners you may work with if you’re having your wedding at Sanderling.

Renee Landry Style is the florist/designer who set up the trampoline. She has the funkiest and funnest ideas and is incredibly talented!

And here are some of the adorable brides and couples who came to play with us!

Congratulations to all the couples and the vendors who made the OBX Bride’s show so special!! And a huge thanks to Sanderling for hosting it and OBX for having the show!!
