Welcome to Brooke Mayo Photographers – Est. 2003 by Brooke

Since then, we have grown to include two funfabulous associates Carrie Roen and Candace Owens! Carrie joined the BMP team in 2005 and Candace in 2011.

We love nothing more than capturing love, happiness, and documenting all your laughter, tears and smiles. We want to capture YOU, as Carrie says, “If you’re not having fun, neither are we!”

In addition to a fine arts degree in photography, Brooke trained with world-renowned portrait and dance photographers from Australia to New York City. Brooke Mayo Photographers have recently been featured in international publications such as Grace Ormonde, Destination Weddings and Honeymoons, Bride Magazine, Baby Lifestyle Magazine and have received numerous awards from The Wedding Photojournalist Association.

We were recognized as the #7 Artistic Wedding Photojournalist in the world by the Artistic Guild of Wedding Photojournalists in 2009.

We also feel honored to have been chosen as an A List Photographer for Destination Weddings & Honeymoons in 2011!

Brooke is the author of two books, “Diving Doggies: A Celebration of Play Underwater” and “Shake, Rattle and Shoot: The Business of Baby Photography.”

A brief dictionary to our words…

Brookeisms:

sugarbutt :: someone you are dating, smoochin’, married to

loverbuns :: someone you are dating, smoochin’, married to; an engagement shoot

sassybuns :: one who is sassin’ me or someone else; a sassybuns shoot is a boudoir or naked jay shoot, often given to your husband the night after your wedding, nothing grody pants!

lovebug :: someone you are dating, smoochin’, married to

ladybug :: any girl, woman, female

junebug :: any girl, woman, female

merecat :: come here

silly goose :: silly

frolick :: to run, play, jump, lay in the sand; to have fun!

nuggles :: snuggles

crackhead :: term of endearment

daddy pants :: father, grandfather, doggie daddy

funhammer :: one who hammers the fun out of anything

shimmy squat :: the bend down lower than others, to squat, but your fanny must come down to touch your heels as well

jumping bean :: generally used when I want you to jump in the air

laughy taffy :: laugh

giggle box :: laugh

playtime :: anything fun and silly, running on the beach, playing in the water…

daddoos :: thank you!

wondersum :: wonderful

funfabulous/funtabulous :: fabulous, amazing, exciting

toot :: cute

goose egg von moose egg :: excuse me

sassasauras :: someone who may be sassin’ me or being silly

sexasaurus :: one who is having major “smoochie time” or cuddling very hard
