10th wedding anniversary | Nags Head

First Colony Inn

Krystal and Ryan left the kiddos with Nana, and drove five hours south to the Outer Banks to enjoy a few days alone and celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary.  Kristal had done her research, and knew we were up for as much fun as they were!

We love, love, love to hear that!

We met at the First Colony Inn, in Nags Head and walked the short distance to the beach.  There is a gorgeous access, fencing and dunes.  We stayed dry for a while, but when you mention getting wet, or playing hard- our ears perk up like an eager puppy.

After 10 years of marriage and two children, this couple is still smokin’ hot with each other!

Outer Banks Family Portraits

We met Cindy and her family at their rental house in Duck, NC.  They are all visiting from different parts of Ohio, many for the first time-and loving the Outer Banks!  They all had the most amazing eye colors!  Gorgeous family, full of love and playfulness.

Thanks for spending time with me on your vacation!

Kill Devil Hills Wedding | Michaela & Chris

Sprinkles, Fireworks and Fringe!

Nags Head Beach Wedding

Chis and Michaela decided on a destination wedding on the Outer Banks.  The couple is from NYC and spent the week longing with family in a big beach house in Kill Devil Hills, NC.

Candace met with them earlier in the week and they had a fun sunrise engagement session.

We fell in love with the couple’s engagement rings!  The have each other’s fingerprints engraved on their wedding bands!  Such a neat idea!  I can’t help but think of the generations to come, and their amazement at seeing the fingerprints being passed down through generations.

Michaela and Chris had their own unique style as they walked down the aisle.  Renee Landry Events set up the pews on the beach for their intimate wedding.  Bouquets, head wreaths, and boutonnieres all smelled lovely with the lavender and rosemary intertwined.

Michaela’s sis is an absolute hoot!  She kept us cracking up throughout the evening, and her maid of honor song was incredible!  No shyness there!

The wedding guests all surprised the couple mid-way through the reception by wearing fringed Outer Banks t-shirts!  Everyone had different designs, and came out during the first dance with sparklers.  A neighbor (no doubt a tourist) down the street just so happened to be lighting off fireworks at the same time as first dance!  As illegal as it may be, they had impeccable timing!

We had checked radar, and were expecting rain, with dodged us completely, until first dance.  We had just a few sprinkles which held the light gorgeously!

Dawn’s Kitchen came to the beach cottage, catered and bartended the evening. Everyone was thrilled with the dinner and especially the icecream bar and Duck Donuts!  The groom is notorious for his love of bacon, and Dawn made sure to have bacon at every course!  From salad to dessert, there was pork everywhere!

Thanks for having us!!

Many Congrats to you two!

Engagement session | Kill Devil Hills

Sunrise beach portraits

Michaela and Chris are from NYC and having their Outer Banks Destination wedding this week.  While they’re here, we scheduled an engagement session at their rental house in Kill Devil Hills.  We had a beautiful sunrise over the ocean.  It was a bit steamy, so afterwards, they jumped in the pool!  Love the playfulness!  Can’t wait for the wedding!

Outer Banks Engagement | Corolla

OBX vacation surprises!

So exciting photographing Kaylee and Brad! They are newly engaged to be married, as in- he proposed the DAY BEFORE!!!

The couple live in New Jersey and have been together for four and a half years.  They had planned an OBX vacation and Brad thought it the perfect time to pop the question!  He woke Kaylee up at 5:30 am for a sunrise walk with their pup and a bottle of champagne.  Once they were on the beach, Brad dropped down on one knee and Kaylee said she was too busy to answer because she was running around and jumping!

We met at their rental house in Corolla.  We manage to fit in the most beautiful shoot in between complete downpours!  It stopped raining just a few minutes before shooting and we had beautiful skies and sand reflections.  Once we finished on the beach, we didn’t make it back into the house before the bottom fell out again!

Congrats you two!!
